Welcome week 2012

To kick off the fall semester we have a full week of events planned. To be sure you know where and when all the events are, take a close look at the calendar below. There are many opportunities to get to know the staff and faculty, to meet new friends, and to make new memories!

Sunday, August 31

New Student Welcome Day


9 A.M. - 1 P.M.

New Resident Student Move-in
New residents move into the residence halls. Please go to Berchmans Hall Rotunda before going to the residence hall.

1 - 2 P.M.

New Commuter Student Check-in
New commuters check-in, receive their student ID and parking sticker.

noon - 2 P.M.

Food available 12:15-1:15. Students will receive three tickets for lunch. Additional lunches may be purchased.

2:15 - 2:45 P.M.

Commuter Student Information Session
Information on parking, student services and more. All commuter students must attend.

Meal plan begins. Dining room open, use meal plan or food may be purchased.

Returning Resident Check-In
All returning residents must move in on this day. Please contact residence life 413-265-2461 if you have a question.

10 A.M.

Student  Trip
Free for new full-time students. Buses leave from the front of Berchmans Hall on Springfield Street. Pick one of three: Dave and Busters in Providence, RI; Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, CT; or Boston Duck Tour. An e-mail with sign-up information will be sent out in late August.

2-3 P.M.

Returning Resident Floor Meetings
Resident meeting in the dining room. Breakout groups for floor socials. Mandatory for all returning residents.


8 P.M.

Lights, Camera, Action!
Movie on the Quad

Join us on the quad to watch a flick on the big screen and enjoy some free popcorn. Bring your blanket to sit on. Sponsored by SGA.

New Commuter Free Student Breakfast
All new commuter students welcome. Come and have breakfast and then go to your first seminar orientation R.s.v.p. winterst@elms.edu

First-Year Seminar Orientation
All first-year students must attend. Lunch will be provided.

A long standing tradition to welcome the first year students and celebrate the beginning of the seniors last year. Commuters and residents welcome to attend. Sponsored by Student Government Association (SGA).
