Berkshire Community College and Elms College Sign Articulation Agreement
Berkshire Community College and Elms College have entered into an academic agreement allowing qualified BCC human services graduates to transfer to the Elms College social work bachelor’s degree programs in Chicopee and Lee, Mass. BCC President Ellen Kennedy and Elms College President Sister Mary Reap recently signed a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions, which will become effective classes entering this August in Lee and this September in Chicopee.
BCC students may transfer to the Elms College part-time, full-time, or weekend college bachelor’s degree program in social work.
“We always look for ways to forge new partnerships and pathways so that our students can achieve their highest academic potential,” Kennedy said. “This articulation agreement provides BCC students the flexibility to attend either part-time or full-time based on what works best for them. In addition, the availability of classes in Lee benefits students by providing the option to take classes close to where they currently live or work. Elms College’s social work program is top-notch and we look forward to having some of our graduates continue their education at this prestigious institution.”
“Our two institutions have long been partners in educating future leaders, and this agreement solidifies our dedication to partnering to provide excellent education to students from the Berkshires,” Sr. Mary said.
The two institutions originally signed an articulation agreement for social work majors in 2004.
